Daniel J and Alice (Reilly) Harkins

Married: 1876 in Wilkes-Barre, PA


Granddaughter, Ruth Burke Smith, provide the following information:

Daniel was a miner who fell on his head while working in the mines.
He was a strong man who loved children. Showed off strength often.

After marriage, moved to Indiana, but moved back home, unsuccessful.
Father gave him several parcels of land to build houses on.
During the 1930's, in his 70's, he swam across Harvey's Lake, PA.

They lived at 29 Griffith Lane, previously called 24 Brown (rear) or Griffith's Alley
Except in 1901: 210 Stanton St; 1914-18: 58 Brown St; and 1920's 130 Stanton.
He lived his last years back at 29 Griffith with Daughter Alice Burke's family.
